  2. Take 200 gms Rice flour

Steps to make Omampodi- Snack special:
  1. In a mixer grinder add omam, salt, red chilies and make into a smooth powder.
  2. In a pan add both flours and add the smooth powder. The add the ghee. Add small water and make into good paste
  3. And take a squeezer and prepare the omampodi in the heated oil in the pan.
  4. Then it is fried and it is ready to taste.

Of course, we too love to have this as an evening snack and that too on rainy days. We make the traditional "omapodi" during diwali to be added to the special diwali mixture. The omapodi with a cup of hot coffee is a perfect evening snack during the weekends. As the name suggests, "Omam" in Tamil means ajwain or carom seeds which is mixed into the batter of gram flour and spices. Omapodi recipe, made with kadalai mavu (Gram flour/ besan), rice flour and omam (Ajwain/ caraway seeds) as main ingredients.
